SCOTT L. SCRIVENS: General Counsel [email:]

Scott Scrivens is a licensed attorney and has been practicing in the state of Ohio for thirty years.  He has engaged in general practice, workers compensation, criminal and family law.  His general practice encompassed small business incorporation, partnerships, transactional and contract work.
Mr. Scrivens graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1978 with a B.S. degree.  He received his law degree from Cleveland State University – Marshall College of Law in 1981 and he lives with his wife and four children in Avon Lake, Ohio.

Mr. Scrivens will serve as General Counsel. In this position, he will assist with all legal matters relative to the charity including, but not limited to, contract negotiations, drafting legal documents, preparing leases, charter agreements, purchase agreements, liability releases, etc.
He will also participate in community outreach programs, advertising, and sponsorship, and he will maintain the board meeting minutes, schedule board meetings and help prepare financial documents/statements, balance sheets, financial records, income statement, tax reporting compliance and other bookkeeping matters.

DENNIS DeCHANT: Military Liaison [email:]

Dennis DeChant is Dr. Kuebler’s Godson.   Mr. DeChant served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was trained as a sniper.  He received his training at the Marine Corps Base at Quantico in 1988.   He subsequently saw action in Kosovo as part of the Marine Expeditionary Force.  He was honorably discharged for his service to his country in 1992.  Mr. DeChant continues to serve his country in a civilian capacity.  He is presently assigned to duties in Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  He supports the efforts to win the Global War on Terror.  He has received numerous unit citations.

Mr. DeChant will serve as the Military Liaison for Kuebler’s Navy, Inc. In this role, Mr. DeChant is responsible for coordinating all military contacts when he is not engaged in theater.  He will “spread the word” in the military world and in community outreach programs.  Mr. DeChant’s direct participation in operations in hostile war zones in the Balkans and Middle East provides him with a unique personal perspective on the military mind that has been through combat.  When wounded veterans and those leaving/returning from combat zones discuss personal issues with Mr. DeChant, they will know that he knows what they are talking about and that he understands and appreciates what they have gone through. He has been there and has done that on multiple deployments.

CHRISTOPHER D. KUEBLER: C.E.O./President [email:]

Christopher Kuebler is an attorney who is licensed to practice law in the states of Ohio, Michigan, Florida and the District of Columbia.  He has specialized in Admiralty and Maritime Law for the past 29 years.  He has expertise and knowledge of all matters involving maritime activity including: obtaining vessel documentation; vessel financing; compliance with water pollution regulations [Clean Water Act] and navigation rules; invasive species; collision; salvage and pilotage issues; obstructions to navigable waterways under the Rivers and Harbors Act; wetland issues; maritime liability; maritime liens; Jones Act; mass toxic tort claims; Rule C maritime arrest and Rule B garnishment.  Mr. Kuebler graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1978 with a B.S. degree in Biology/Chemisty.  He received his law degree from Cleveland State University – Marshall College of Law in 1982 and now resides in Avon Lake, Ohio.  He is associated with the law firm of Ray Robinson Carle & Davies located in Cleveland, Ohio.  Mr. Kuebler is Dr. Kuebler’s son and Joseph Kuebler’s nephew.

Mr. Kuebler will serve as President and C.E.O. of the Charity.  He will have responsibility for general oversight of the charity and its operations. His duties include planning, arranging and scheduling boat charters; securing partnerships, sponsors and co-charters; soliciting volunteers; fundraising; writing applications for grants; securing maintenance/repair and operation of the charity’s boats; community outreach programs; operating the website; assisting with accounting.  He will make all strategic decisions which concern expansion of the charitable service and purchasing or obtaining additional boats.  He will handle title transfers, vessel documentation, and ensure compliance with all navigation rules, Coast Guard regulations, and other environmental and safety statutes, rules and regulations, whether federal, state or local.  He will be responsible for tax reporting compliance, compliance with state business filing requirements, including working with an accountant and auditors in the preparation of corporate books including annual financial reports and preparing and filing IRS tax form 990 or its equivalent, in accordance with the law.

JAMES A. GAMELLIA: Founding Director [email:]

James Gamellia is in real estate development, and commercial and residential real estate construction in Lorain County, Ohio.  Mr. Gamellia has been active in this industry for thirty years.   He has extensive knowledge in finance, accounting, business management, business operations, banking, lending and corporate development.  Mr. Gamellia is a lifelong resident of Avon Lake and resides there with his wife and four children.  Mr. Gamellia graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance.
